On July 18, 2008 fifty-five new international harvesters were added to the number of servants working with ABWE globally. It was a special evening for Dr. Fawcett as she has personal ties to several in this class of appointees.

Chris & Mihaela Guess and their children Brianna & CJ were among the new recruits. Chris attended and graduated from CHC where Dr. Fawcett taught for many years. In addition Chris was an intern in Shadow Mountain's High School ministry. As an intern Chris planned and participated in several missons trips including a trip to Peru and another trip to Romania.

Chris returned to Romania for a year of extended service to the Halvarsons and the Carensebes Bible Institute in SW Romania. It was during that year that a strong friendship grew into a budding romance between Chris and Mihaela, a Romanian national and student at the CBI. Mihaela was one of Dr. Fawcett's first students in Romania. She is a very talented woman with musical skills, artistic abilities in making crafts/decorations, and a huge love for God and the people He made - especially Romanians!

Matthew Bigelow of Immanuel Baptist Church in Columbus, OH was also in this class of new missionaries. Dr. Fawcett and the Bigelow family have been friends for over 15 years. Matt is a graduate of Cedarville University and also Moody Bible Graduate School in Chicago as of this past May. Matt has a burden for evangelism and discipleship and will soon be making a survey trip to Capetown South Africa to meet potential teammates. Emily Pausley, Matt's sister, and his mom, Cindy were able to attend this special night of appointment. I am so proud to have Matt on the same team!
